If you have ever wondered about the corner stone embedded in the sidewalk leading up to our present church building, here is the story: Our first church building in Parsons, Kansas, was located downtown at 1721 Washington Avenue, and served as our meeting house from 1894 until 1919, when a new building was erected for our congregation at 2611 Main Street. The corner stone memorializing our first permanent church house was installed in that new building (circled in the first photo). At some point following the construction of our present building in 1965, the corner stone was moved and embedded in our present sidewalk, where it remains to this day.
